My Beach Summer- Original Art on Paper
My Beach Summer: Some of my fondest memories are of going to the beach when I was about 14 or 15 and allowed to go on my own with friends. We lived 150 meters from the beach and I remember surfing in the afternoons with the boys from school. I had a red O’Neill surf mat and I loved it so much. Loads of fun in those summers and Maroochy Beach was my home. It is still a favourite when I go for a surf with my surf mat or for a walk with my husband. Those memories will never fade. The colours in this piece are the beautiful fading light of the sky sunset, the blues of the ocean and all the colours in between.
This is an unframed original on A3 size 29.5cm x 41.5 cm on 300 gsm watercolour paper, mixed media- pencil, acrylic, watercolour paint.

Michelle on her abstract art process:
“I start with a series of mark making, lines and symbols. I use layers to build up a story and use many different tools to create texture in my art. I am always exploring different supplies, tools and ways of achieving movement and flow.
“These abstracts look even better up close, where you’ll see a variety of hidden marks and meanings within the art.”
